Give Me Christmas with Yolanda Adams

or not! Music companies are unloading crappy CDs on our libraries and schools. I like the administrator who says:

"One person's crap is another person's 'Let's get a groove on."

At the bottom of the article, they have an example of what one library is getting. How righteous to be getting 68 copies of the same Barry White album! OMG.

Bottle Opening Sandal

I think the consensus among geeks is that the Reef Bottle Opening Sandals are clearly retarded. One friend pointed out that bar restrooms have disgusting floors. You're not going to want to open anything using the bottom of your shoe and then put it to your lips. Second, another friend pointed out you could step in dog doo or some other unsavory stuff too. Third, they're just retarded looking. They get big points for getting a lot of attention.

Mystery of German exploding toads

Sounds like a spooky camp site story... the Mystery of German exploding toads. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction - or even science fiction in this case.

Too Patriotic

Someone else said it best when they asked... "Is there such a thing as too patriotic?" View this video and decide for yourself.

I like how it makes reference to not having authorized spoofs of it. I can't imagine that anyone watched it and wanted to spoof it. Highlights for me were the American flag wafting in as the ocean, the transformation into Mount Rushmore and the part with the bandana that looks like he's blowing his nose.

Heart's in the right place, but oh boy...

And the whole part about his pole vaulting and being a Star Trek trading card were pretty hilarious.

Best KISS Lyrics Ever

I accidentally found the Google group related to everything from the band KISS. I particulary like the thread about "great" KISS lyrics. Best excerpts:

"Stanley the parrot....just doesn't know which....way is down."

"I'm gonna dance all over [smitty's] face..."

And this CAN'T be a lyric:

"That what wesley cries when genie podgers his loose ass. "

At least some fans can admit the cheesiness that is KISS:

>but stuff like "she's a dancer, a romancer, i'm a carpricorn and she's a
>cancer", or "when i saw you comin' out of school that day....", make me
>cringe!

Oh lord, help us.

Scared of That!

Wow... this is pretty scary... a russian soldier doing the splits in full dress uniform. Not kidding. See picture #6.

Compulsive Cheese Eater

The Swedish Prime Minister Persson is seriously cheesy. He says that he eats when he is stressed and that he likes to eat plates of cheese ;):

"I stuff myself with cheese by the plateful with four or five pieces of different types at least once a day," he said in an interview.

"I am doing that right now," he told the Expressen newspaper.

"I eat when I am stressed," he told Expressen.

But he said that neither the cheese, which is known to give people nightmares, nor his low ratings were keeping him up at night.

There are Weird People on the Internet

I was going to say more, but I'm suddenly struck by the simplicity of the title. That's pretty much all I have to say.

Naked Teapot Guy

I must have been living under a rock to have missed the whole incident with the guy who posted a picture of a teapot on Ebay that included a reflection of his naked body :P! I would have just given a teapot like that to the Goodwill. I can't believe people will go to so much trouble to get rid of or buy a 10 year old teapot!

I still like country music.

Doh (d'Oh)

Talk about someone too careless to be a senator. I haven't heard about Terry Schiavo enough... glad they put the pronunciation guide in.

Polish Spears

I am totally hooked on Polish Dill Spears. I'm eating so many of them, I'm going to wake up with cankles. Gross!!

They are some of the tartest, pickliest pickles, I've ever tasted. My grandma got me hooked on them.

Wisdom from the Bunnymen

Echo and the Bunnymen was a cool 80's band. Tons of people tried in vain to duplicate Ian McCulloch's hair. (I guess they are still a band and no ill will meant... I only knew them in the 80s). I really like the song "All My Life":

Oh how the times have changes us
Sure and now uncertain
Men not devils have claimed us
Purity deserting
God’s one miracle
Lost in circles

All my all my life
Revolves around
Laughter and crying
As my life turns
Round and round

Another cool song is "The Killing Moon", but I realize I might outcheese myself by posting more of their lyrics here.

Sturgeon Moved to Aquarium and BTW, That Guy - The Pope Died

If anyone has a doubt about how strange China's government and communism is, they need to check out the censorship on the Pope's death.

I don't think you have to be Catholic to appreciate what a good man he was. In an age where almost every single world leader or celebrities have dark secrets, disappoint us or turn out to be awful people in private, here was a man who was really good. He really loved people unconditionally. The way he acted in forgiving his assailant was really inspiring. People just aren't like that very often.

Temporarily Lost Interest In Baking

after having the stomach flu. Having a hard time looking at food the same.
